Jammu and Kashmir Universities :-
Kashmir University was in 1956 the university was established, reorganized and was granted its status. The faculties are Arts, Languages, Natural Sciences, Social Sciences, Education, Commerce, Law, Medicine, Dental Surgery, Engineering, Music and Fine Arts and Non-formal Education.
Kashmir University has 54 departments and offers 65 courses and programmes in diverse disciplines of science, arts, humanities and technology. The faculty and the departments of the University are working on several significant research projects in which a large number of teachers as well as students are engaged. The University has a mechanism of offering consultancy services.
